Cats
Felines may have urinary infections due to many reasons. There are 2 main types: obstructive and unobstructive. In cats that are not obstructed they are still able to urinate. The cause may be from stress, diet change, bacteria, or crystals in the urine.
Symptoms include:
- blood in the urine
- frequent urination
- dribbling urine
- straining
- weakness
- depression
- lack of appetite
- vomiting
- pain
In some cases, the cat (almost always males) may become obstructed, where they are unable to urinate. This requires immediate attention. If you notice your pet making frequent trips to the litter box, make sure that he is producing urine.
