Nail Trims

Toenail trims are important for your dog's health. When toenails are too long they can grow into your pet's paw pad and cause discomfort as well as impair your dog's walking ability.

Helpful tips:

  • Start nail trims at an early age to avoid behavioral problems
  • Dog and cat toenails have a quick and a tip. During a nail trim, the tip is trimmed only. Trimming into the quick will cause bleeding and discomfort to your pet. If you accidentally cut the quick and draw blood, you may press cornstarch or flour to the nail to stop the bleeding.
