Kids going on an animal ride

We are glad to be back in our hometown. Drs. David and Leah (Snyder) Gray welcome you to River's Edge Pet Medical Center. It is located next to Tom's Garden Center in the North Albany Plaza. The facility is a full-service veterinary hospital plus emergency service for small animals. Our goal is to provide a lifetime of quality healthcare for your "best friend." We are proud of our dedicated commitment to outstanding veterinary medicine, surgery and compassionate pet healthcare. We strive to learn each day and are committed to continuing education for both staff and doctors. It is our attention to detail both from a technical view and from the human-animal-bond point of view that allows us to reach our personal and professional goals.

Dr. Leah Gray, daughter of Jim and Vicki Snyder, graduated from WAHS in 1989 and completed a bachelor's degree in Biology from Western Oregon State College in 1993. Leah graduated from Oregon State/Washington State Colleges of Veterinary Medicine in 1997. After receiving her DVM degree, Leah completed an internship in equine medicine and surgery at Tacoma Equine Hospital in Tacoma, WA. Leah was accepted to an equine internal medicine residency at the University of California at Davis and completed her board certification in May 2001. She is a member of the American Association of Equine Practitioners, the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine, and the American Veterinary Medical Association.

Dr. David Gray, son of Pat and Gary Gray, graduated from Philomath HS in 1985 and completed a bachelor's degree in Animal Science from Oregon State University in 1991. David graduated from Oregon State/Washington State Colleges of Veterinary Medicine in 1994. After receiving his DVM degree, David worked as an associate veterinarian in the Albany area but soon joined the Army Veterinary Corps and served for three years. During this time, he was stationed at Fort Lewis, Guantanamo Bay, and in Japan. After his army commitment, David moved with Leah to the Sacramento area where he worked as an associate veterinarian at Mueller Animal Hospital, a 24-hour critical care facility. David is a member of the Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care Society and the American Veterinary Medical Association.

After three years in California, the Gray's, along with their menagerie of dogs, cats, and horses, moved to Coeur d'Alene, ID where they started their own veterinary practices, Prairie Equine Hospital and North Idaho Pet Emergency. The Gray's two children, Mason, five years, and Madison, two years, were born in North Idaho. After being away from home for about ten years, it was time to move back to the Willamette Valley closer to family and friends. The Gray's celebrated their 10-year anniversary in September, 2006.

River's Edge Pet Medical Center is a full-service veterinary hospital devoted to the healthcare of your pet. Veterinary medicine is not far behind human medicine with advances in diagnostic imaging, surgical procedures, and medical treatments. Dr. David Gray's extensive experience in small animal emergency medicine and surgery will provide your pet with life-saving alternatives that may not have been available just a decade ago. Dr. Leah Gray is board certified in equine internal medicine and can provide expertise in that area. David's interests include soft tissue surgery, emergency medicine, and preventive healthcare. Leah's interests include neonatal medicine, neurological disease, respiratory disease, lameness, soft tissue surgery, and dentistry.

Our goals for the pet medical center include, but are not limited to, being 24-hour care, having web cams so that you may have access to your pet during his hospital stay, and a special room designated for humane euthanasia. We provide a service to substantially alleviate rising veterinary costs. It is called Care Credit and is similar to having health insurance for your pet.

Our personal goals are simply put and probably parallel many of yours: to lead a balanced life with regards to career and family in this busy, hectic world. Please do not hesitate to call with any of your large or small veterinary concerns. We look forward to serving you.
